RSVP here, while not needed is suggested. From 12:00-12:30, we'll have some food and chat about upcoming volunteer needs and hear your ideas!
What to Bring: water and sunblock.
What to Wear: closed toe shoes and weather appropriate clothing.
We’ll be working on the following tasks:
Emptying the Garden Compost Rings
To prepare for winter cleanup, we will wheel our garden compost to the area we call the "Wild Hedge" and cover the plant material with roughly 10" of compost.
Weeding the Largest Permaculture Island Bed
We will focus on eradicating our most invasive weeds, aggressive vines, and undesired trees.
Relocating the Garden Bed Adjacent to Our Apple Tree
We will replace the grow bags and planters currently placed to the left of our southern water tote with the garden bed nestled next to the apple tree.
Preparing for Fall Rain
We will add more mulch around all of our water totes and set up an additional rain barrel to collect runoff from the shed roof.
Staining the Shed Bench
The bench along the shed wall has been stripped of paint; it now just needs a coat of stain to finish off the project.
Cutting Back Gaura in the Border
Cut back native Oenothera gaura (commonly known as biennial gaura or biennial beeblossom) just to improve access along the northern garden border, both inside and outside the fence.
