All-Garden Workday

  • Taylor Street Farms 900 South Ada Street Chicago, IL, 60607 United States (map)

RSVP here, while not needed is suggested. From 12:00-12:30, we'll have some food and chat about upcoming volunteer needs and hear your ideas!

What to Bring: water and sunblock.

What to Wear: closed toe shoes and weather appropriate clothing.

We’ll be working on the following tasks:

Planting in Permaculture
Dig out lilies from the largest permaculture island, then plant saffron and native plants in the cleared space.

Sanding Paint Off Picnic Table

Prepare the picnic tables for staining by sanding off as much of the old paint as possible.

Cutting Pallets for Removal

Saw wooden pallets into smaller sections so they are easier to donate to Chicago Community Jail Support.

Clearing Invasive Vines

Remove and dispose of aggressive vines (specifically clematis and morning glory) along the fence line.

Cut Back Unwanted Volunteer Trees
Focus on cutting back trees growing in the fence line.

Emptying the Garden Compost Rings

Wheel garden compost to the "Wild Hedge" area and cover the plant material with roughly 10" of wood chip to prepare for winter cleanup.
